Dr. Cole is an internationally renowned orthopedic surgeon with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, and head team physician for the Chicago Bulls. I’ve had the pleasure of working with him on a number of projects and if the information comes out of his mouth you can take it to the bank. Steve Kashul serves as the co-host of the show but in my mind Steve serves as the voice of the listener. Steve has certainly picked up his share of knowledge about sports injuries from his years of association with the Bulls and Dr. Cole, but listeners of the show will feel that Steve is speaking for them. And for me, I spent the early years of my life in Oak Park, Illinois and there’s something that you just trust in a midwestern voice.
The show’s segments feature recognized sports medicine specialists, athletes, and some representatives from sports industry. Every sport and every age group is covered. If you want to make yourself the best athlete you can be and avoid injury you’ll pick up some useful information here. And if you’ve been unlucky enough to have already had an injury you’ll learn some things here that will put you at ease through your recovery. One segment I enjoy is the Fantasy Sports Injury Update that is headed up by Kyle Pilz, Dr. Cole’s assistant. That segment matches up publicly available information on an athlete’s injury with Dr. Cole’s professional commentary.
The show runs about an hour and broadcasts live at 7 AM Central time each Saturday morning. If the time doesn’t work for you just do as I do and download the podcast to your smartphone, stick the earbuds in your ear and listen while you do your exercise. While you’re at it you can also listen to a chapter of our Sideline Sports Doc injury management chapters so you can handle your kids’ injuries with confidence!
The world needs more quality programming like Sports Medicine Weekly-great hosts, interesting guests- and the best part is listening to the podcasts during a workout renders it almost effortless!
Great supplement information in episode 10. I much prefer gathering my health and fitness data from medical professionals rather that marketing professionals! Thanks for an objective take on what could be a overpriced habit.
Hey guys as a second year Physical Therapy Assistant student, a former athlete and a sports enthusiast I just had to write and say I love the show. I listen to ESPN radio daily and I came across the show your first week on the air and I am hooked.
I love listening and applying what I am learning in school to the show. I hope to be involved in the sports scene when I graduate and it was awesome to hear professionals like Dr. Cole and Dr. Andrews talk about starting at the lower levels and working their way up to where they are now. Thanks for the great entertainment and continued success.

Greetings, Congratulations on a fine show that you have been running on ESPN/radio. Being a Doctor of Chiropractic (different than most) specializing in Sports Medicine and Performance.
I have enjoyed each episode and the input from the hosts and guests. Keep up the great work with the show and the informative topics. Best Regards,
I just heard the first show on Saturday on my drive to the office. I'd like to congratulate you on a great show! ... I am a sports chiropractor and athletic trainer with experience in professional, collegiate, high school and youth athletes... Congrats and please let me know if there's interest in a collaborative discussion. Thanks.
Thank you so much for answering my question in your program this morning. As always, you guys managed to knock out a great show. I don't, and never have considered myself an athlete but always listen, as you and your guests provide a wealth of information not only for training or treating, but for daily living.
Thanks again,
Dennis
